I was invited to participate in the exhibition "Future state" at the National Museum of Art exhibition hall Arsenāls, Riga, Latvia. The show was created within the framework of the 100th anniversary of the Latvian state.
I did not want to foresee the future, because I already live in it. This is the future state of my predecessors. They have struggled for this state, so that I would have it. This is why for me dreaming about the future seems to be avoiding the present. The belief that everyone will sort their waste, greet their neighbours and the overall level of taste will suddenly rise to the mythical refined Latvian sensitivity some time in the future, instead of a continued effort to achieve it now.
